The Case Against Vivisection Deputation, 1948
A deputation, sent to the Home Secretary, Rt. Hon. J. Chuter Ede, on the 23rd February 1948 from the conference of anti-vivisection societies. The title of the deputation is "The Case Against Vivisection", and it contains the opinions of those within the anti-vivisection movement and examples of ill treatment of animals. It was published by the Scottish Society for the Prevention of Vivisection.
Visits to Vivisectional Laboratories and correspondence in connection therein, 1910 - 1949
A collection of correspondence and reports from the SSPV and laboratories, including the University of Edinburgh, about visits to see the treatment of animals used in animal experimentation. Most of the visits are to laboratories across Scotland between the dates of 1910 - 1949.
Also included are cuttings and extracts from publications such as The Animals' Friend, 1940, "Experiments on Animals", from the Lancet, and "Counted with the Oppressors, by J. Leonard Cather.
